This presentation will discuss the concept of “Right Tree – Right Place” and gives guidance on tree selection, planting, establishment, and maintenance - both short and long-term. The discussion will also focus on proper site selection, evaluation, tree placement, potential benefits and conflicts, expected tree performance, and setting trees up for failure within the “Right Tree, Right Place” concept. A comment will be made on species diversity, the evaluation of the potential for invasive species (Tree species and pests) when selecting trees for planting, and the importance of the percentage of the population in species selection.
