Tree Preservation During Construction: Planning, Protection & Liability

Construction activities are among the most damaging stressors to urban trees, often leading to long-term decline or removal. This course provides arborists with practical strategies for tree preservation before, during, and after construction. Topics include site assessment, root and soil protection, barrier installation, monitoring during construction, and post-construction remediation. Liability considerations and communication with contractors, clients, and municipalities will be emphasized to ensure both tree survival and risk reduction.
